Celebrating a Life

A Celebration is a focus on some of life’s most cherished moments. From the first birthday, to a graduation or the ceremonial moments of marriage. Each Step of life’s path is one that should be precious. Just as the begging of life should be commemorated so should the end of life.  Though the conclusion of one’s story is one that can create emptiness, we seek to hold the memories of the happiness that we are able to share. For as Ralph Waldo Emerson states “It is not length of life, but depth of life.” We strive to help hold onto those memories that are worth keeping.

“Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life.”   –  John Muir

“Life is so beautiful that death has fallen in love with it, a jealous, possessive love that grabs at what it can. But life leaps over oblivion lightly, losing only a thing or two of no importance, and gloom is just a passing shadow of a cloud.”  –  Yann Martel

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity.”  –   Gilda Radner

How to honor a life

Part of celebrating a life is by finding ways to honor them in death. There are many ways of possibly honor those who have passed on. Consider expressing your gratitude in one of these simple ways.

  • Plant a Tree
  • Make a donation
  • Write a Letter
  • Prepare a Memory Capsule

Planting a Tree in someone’s name gives the love that you have for your loved one an outlet to grow. Allowing your loved one’s memory to continue to provide shelter and shade to those who need it, and improving the environment for others over all.

Donating to those who need it can be a very fulfilling way to commemorate the life of a loved one, by supporting that which your loved one care for or perused. Allowing that which brought so much joy to your loved one bring joy to others.

Expressing your love and care for the one passed can eternalize the love that is felt for someone on paper. Giving an outlet to continue to share your life experiences with your loved one.

Having possession that were of great value to your loved one preserved, can continue the preservation of their memory. By holding items with great intent to be able to open and experience at a later time can continue to spark memories of loved ones after years past.
