John William Bailey, Jr., 92, formerly of Glasgow, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Helmwood Healthcare in Elizabethtown. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late John William Bailey, Sr. and Francis Stevenson Bailey. He was a retired construction worker and a former janitor at the Barren County Courthouse and New Farmers National Bank. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Glasgow, where he was also a member of the choir.
Survivors include three children: Shirley Clay of Louisville; James Bailey of New Haven; and Larry Shannon (Mary) of Glasgow; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with burial in the Barlow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
