James Elvin Garner
July 12, 1925 ~ January 13, 2006
James Elvin Garner, 80, of Glasgow died Friday, January 13, 2006 at the NHC Nursing Facility. He was the son of the late Herdis L. Garner and Lela M. Hurt Garner. A retired farmer/electrician and a Marine veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife Frances Staples Garner; one daughter: Carolyn Garner; one son: Jay Garner of Glasgow; two grandchildren: Angie King and her husband Todd of Glasgow and Brad Sharp and his wife Sherry of Glasgow; five great-grandchildren: Myles, McKinley, Morgan, Mason and Madison; one step great-grandchild: Matthew; one brother: Henry P. Garner of Glasgow.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Roger Lee Garner and one sister Virginia Garner.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be between 2:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
