Alice Carner

May 16, 1933     ~     November 24, 2016

Alice Brandenburg Carner, 83, Glasgow, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. A native of Beattyville, she was a daughter of the late Dudley and Ethel Williams Brandenburg.

Mrs. Carner was avid admirer of wildflowers. She was an active member of the Glasgow Garden Club, the Beautification Committee, B & PW, and the Glasgow Baptist Church. She was an avid traveler, having traveled the world 3 times. She was the 1992 recipient of the Athena Award given to women of achievement by the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include one son Bobby Carner of Glasgow; one grandson: Brandenburg Carner of Louisville; one sister: Leona Fellows; one brother: Joey Brandenburg; one nephew: Dr. Micky Fellows.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Philip C. Carner and one brother Sonny Brandenburg.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
