Geraldine Calloway Sams
June 15, 1919 ~ June 17, 2005
Geraldine Calloway Sams, 86, Glasgow, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at the Barren County Health Care Center. A daughter of the late Lettie Maxie and Ray Charles Calloway, she was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Harlan Christian Church. She was the widow of the late Gordon Ray Sams.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Ropp and her husband, Barlow, of Glasgow; one son, Gordon Sams of Boulder, CO; one grandson, Powell Ropp and his wife, Cathy, of Smyrna, TN; one granddaughter, Katherine Ropp and her husband, Jonathan Castrodale, of Seattle, WA; two great-grandchildren, Edwin Ropp and Augusta Castrodale.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. EDT Monday, June 20, 2005, at the Resthaven Cemetery in Harlan, KY. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
